Acid Attack epitomise the DIY ethic of UK punk rock! Formed in late 1980, hailing from Portsmouth, England UK they released a demo tape Sulphuric in 1982 and contributed "Suburbia's Dream" song to the compilation "On the Street" in 1984. In terms of era, they fit into what is known as UK82 punk. They were neither Oi or Hardcore Punk. They were aiming beyond such restricting labels. Their name spread far and wide thanks to word of mouth, sales of Sulphuric (aided greatly by smearing postage stamps with soap in order to reuse them) and interviews in many of the punk fanzines of the time.
